Neil’s primary role within the office is during the initiation and design development stages of projects but he is also experienced in leading multi-disciplinary design teams on projects with complex design and technical requirements, including those involving multiple stakeholders and community consultations. He is practiced in speaking at public meetings and leading community discussion groups but communicates most effectively through drawing freehand in real time collaborations with clients and stakeholders.
A number of the projects that Neil has been involved with have gained recognition and awards from national institutions and professional bodies.
Neil is also actively involved in teaching having been a studio design tutor and lecturer at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, part of the Glasgow School of Art, since 2007.
Neil is a benched goalkeeper which allows him more time to enjoy his expansive collections of architectural books, jazz, blues and soul music on a range of analogue and digital formats.
