Experienced and ambitious Project Architects and Architectural Technologists are sought to join our growing team, across all three of our regional offices in, Dalkeith, Galashiels and Berwick Upon Tweed. Successful candidates will join a great team to work projects across a broad range of sectors, including; high-quality domestic, affordable housing, commercial development, conservation and community-led projects. We are particularly keen to further enhance our capacity to deliver projects using BIM (Revit) at all scales and our growing specialism in deep-retrofit projects.
CSY Architects is the new trading name of the three practices formerly known as Bain Swan, Douglas Strachan, and Camerons (est 1963). These were combined in 2020 to form an experienced and passionate team, which is “greater than the sum of its parts”. This team owns the majority of the practice through an Employee Ownership Trust, and this informs our collective ethos, which values people and places. Decisions about how the practice develops are made collectively by the team, who are also active members of the communities we serve. In-house expertise includes energy efficient and sustainable design, conservation, and helping both communities and businesses to facilitate and enable projects from an early stage. Further skills, experience and qualifications in these areas would be valuable additions to the team.
The team has been going through a process of adopting BIM systems and methodology and are transitioning to the use of Revit. Our Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Edinburgh Napier University has focussed on how this can be applied to and benefit smaller projects, and we are keen to continue exploring this to optimise our service. Knowledge and experience of the application of BIM with Revit would therefore be highly desirable in those joining the team.
