Light open Extension | Edinburgh
Construction Phase
Completion
Making full use of the garden’s south-facing orientation, this house extension has been designed to be light and open to the garden. The wrap-around extension has been designed with multiple roof planes and glazed elements.
The main flat roof element provides shade to an external seating area and is separated from the existing house by roof glazing to bring light into the existing house.
A second roof plane lifts above this to bring light into the new open plan kitchen from a high level, and a third runs along the side of the existing house to form a new bedroom to the first floor.
