Creating your welcoming and sustainable home

Our team of dynamic, experienced architects and technologists have decades of local experience providing a friendly and personal service to homeowners, while enhancing our beautiful urban and rural landscapes.

Friendly support

For many homeowners, adapting or building a new property will be the most important project they ever undertake, and we want you to find it is a rewarding experience. We believe good architecture is the result of good relationships and find that face-to-face meetings are the key to us understanding your aspirations. Our role is to listen carefully and provide a friendly, personal and straightforward service that achieves your vision within your budget.

We work with you to produce an exciting and practical design to the highest standards, then manage the applications for any required planning permission and building warrant. If you wish, we can refine your design right down to the internal finishes and fittings. From there, we support you on site through the whole process until the last trade van leaves and building control approve your new space.

Meet the team

Straightforward approach

Every project is unique, but most involve the following eight stages.
Preparing the brief
Having established your project is feasible, we meet at your home to discuss your ideas and budget and answer any queries before preparing the brief.
Initial design
A survey of your home or site is undertaken by us and/or any other specialists if required. We will share two or three initial concepts using sketches, CAD software and models so you can imagine the space.
Planning application
We will work collaboratively to finalise a more detailed design, before making a planning application to the local authority, if required. It may take around two months for them to respond.
Building warrant application
After adding technical detail, such as thermal performance and structural design, we manage correspondence with the local authority to reach approval. This typically takes four to six months.
Construction documentation
Once consents are obtained, further information such as materials and assembly details are added to enable accurate estimates of construction costs.
Tender administration
We assist with selecting a shortlist of trusted contractors, compare costs and approaches, then handle communications to appoint the successful contractor and confirm a clear timeline for the work.
Contract administration
This can be the most daunting part of the project. We will monitor progress, carefully manage your budget, advise on and certify payments, respond to queries and instruct any changes.
Post completion work
Most contracts allow a 12-month rectification period in which any issues/defects can be identified and we will remain involved to ensure these are resolved.
