Rooftop Retreat | Edinburgh

The roof is a wonderful retreat for the family who live in this sea-front home.  

Our proposal is for a contemporary intervention to enhance this, bringing the property up to the same height as its neighbours.  Daylight will stream down the hidden stair, offering a glimpse of what is above, before the family arrive in the new glass box on the roof.  

This reaching up and out is celebrated in the structure which rises up through the stair well and then creates a roof from which the glass is hung.  

The clients are looking forward to enjoying the view from their rooftop retreat, perhaps with a glass of wine!
