The Fife-based team of Davidson Baxter Partnership will join the employee ownership trust of CSY Architects
Bringing together the teams from these two long-established practices will build upon their respective strengths, developing our close collaboration and enhancing the service we provide collectively. We are excited to bring together such a broad and deep range of skills and experience to form something greater than the sum of its parts.
Davidson Baxter Partnership (DBP Architects) are proud of a body of work and client base, which has been built up over forty years, since 1984. This includes a broad range of architectural and interior design work in Fife and beyond, across domestic, commercial and community sectors. DBP have developed a particular expertise in working with hospitality venues at a range of scales across the UK, providing both architectural and interior design services. The practice is led by Stewart Davidson and Alan Baxter, who will continue as Directors of the merged company, ensuring continuity of service from the existing DBP team.

CSY Architects is already the result of merging the three award winning practices of Douglas Strachan Architects, Bain Swan Architects, and Camerons in 2020. Camerons was established in 1963 and has therefore been serving local communities for over sixty years. When bringing these practices together, the collective team also took a majority shareholding in the merged company through an Employee Ownership Trust. CSY Architects will continue to be led by joint Managing Directors, Douglas Strachan and Gavin Yuill, and will continue to work across housing, commercial, community and other sectors.

Bringing together these practices will result in four regional bases for the collective team, in the Lothians, Borders, Northumberland and Fife. The team will work collaboratively across the merged practice to enhance the friendly and straightforward service currently provided by both companies with a broader skillset and enhanced delivery capacity.
Over the coming months there will be some changes to branding, ownership and administration, but there will continue to be a strong focus on supporting the needs of our clients. We are excited be coming together under a shared ethos of delivering the highest quality of service and design for people and places and look forward to what the future has in store.
