Douglas Strachan

Managing Director | Senior Architect

Douglas has extensive experience in managing the briefing, design, and delivery of projects across a range of sectors and scales.  His early career primarily focused high quality residential projects, especially working with Listed Buildings and in Conservation Areas. 

Douglas also studied Construction Project Management this has supported his strategic approach to the management of individual projects, as well as to the business as a whole.  Douglas formed his own practice in 2012, before forming Camerons Strachan Yuill Architects in 2020.  He is responsible for systems and business management, as well as for the Edinburgh and Dalkeith studios. 

Douglas is the founder and Chairperson of One Dalkeith, a Community Development Trust, which is currently utilising a combination of social enterprise and community empowerment to pursue the social, economic and environmental regeneration of Dalkeith.
